Gina the Kittypet
Chapter 1.
Gina padded downstairs after her long nap. When she got down the stairs, she sat down and lifted a paw to give herself a little wash. One of her twoleg kits ran in yowling. Gina quickly got up and ran into the room with the door that leads outside. She wasn't sure if the twoleg was still following, but she just wanted to be safe. She quickly slipped past the little flap door that led to her garden. When she set foot on the grass, she turned around and looked back. The twoleg kit wasn't following her anymore, but she could hear the bigger twoleg yowling something to it. Satisfied, she sat down and began to finish her wash.
"Good morning Gina." A familiar meow came from the fence. Gina looked up. Her friend Tetra was there. She hopped down and joined Gina.
"Good morning Tetra." Gina meowed, returning the greeting. Tetra looked at Gina. "Any problems with your twolegs?" She asked. "Tetra, it's like you can read my mind!" Gina mewed. "One of my twoleg kits chased me." She meowed. Tetra sighed. "Same happens here." She meowed. She looked out towards a bunch of trees that grew on the other side of the fence. The side that neither of them had ever been in. "One day," Tetra began, "I'm going to go into those trees. I want to see whats there." She meowed. What Tetra just said took Gina's breath away. "Tetra! What if there is something really dangerous out there?" She meowed franticly. "I don't want to loose you!" Tetra looked like something just hit her. "I can take care of myself." She meowed stubbornly. Then, her face brightened up. "Why don't you come with me?" She asked. Gina stared at Tetra. "Are you serious?" She meowed a little too harshly than she ment. "What if our twolegs found out? They would be worried sick!" She meowed. Tetra looked up. Gina guessed that she was trying to think of something to solve this. "Well, we wont be gone that long." Tetra meowed. "We will look after each other. We will leave for a little bit each day." She meowed. Gina closed her eyes. "Tetra, thats not what I ment!" She meowed. "Go everyday? Our twolegs are bound to find out eventualy!" She meowed. Tetra looked into Gina's eyes. "Like I said, only for a little bit. Think about it Gina! Adventure everyday! And who knows! We might meet a forest cat!" She meowed excitedly. "Tetra, there are no forest cats. They are just made up in stories that our mothers told us." She meowed. Tetra looked disapointed. "Well, we might find something amazing!" She meowed, trying to convince herself. "Please Gina, just think about it." She meowed. Then, she got up, padded back to her fence, and lept up and over.
Gina thought about going into the forest for the rest of the day, and untill she fell asleep.
Gina opened her eyes, and found herslef in the forest. Am I dreaming?
She padded forward. Suddenly, a big angry cat shot out of the bushes. It had large teeth, stained with blood. Gina screeched, turned, and ran. She could feel the forest cat's hot breath on her. It was close! Suddenly, the dream fadded, and she woke up. She blinked a few times, trying to get the picture out of her head. She sat up and looked around. I wont go! She thought. What if they ran into a forest cat? Gina stood up, and padded over to the door. She slipped the the flap and went outside.
"There you are! I'v been waiting for you!" Tetra's meowed sounded. Gina looked over just in time to see the light brown body jump down from the fence. Tetra padded over to her. "So, have you thought about it?" She asked. Gina looked down. Tetra suddenly looked sad. "Your not going, are you?" She asked. Gina nodded. "Tetra, I thought about it. I promise, but I had a dream last night. I met a forest cat, and I was running from its big, vicous teeth. I could feel it's breath and everything. It felt so real! I'm just worried that it might happen!" Gina franticly meowed. Tetra looked at her. "It wont happen. Forest cats aren't real, just like you said. Plus, you will have me to protect you. Please, Gina. Lets go once, and if you don't like it, then you don't have to go again." Tetra promised. "Well... all right." Gina meowed. She didn't want to make her friend sad, so she had to agree. "Great!" Tetra meowed, so together, they hopped over the fence, and padded side by side into the forest.
