Nightstorm padded deeper within the humid forest, looking back every once in a while to check on Moonpaw.
It felt odd. The leader had never been in a rainforest before, and so far, she didn't see any prey.

Moonpaw stopped. He sniffed the air, but couldn't detect anything. "What... prey is... here?" He asked. But realized the leader probably didn't know. "Should... we try... somewhere... else?"

"No, I sense something," Nightstorm mewed, and she spotted a mouse. Well, actually... she didn't quite know what it was. It was bigger than a mouse, but smaller than a rat... uh... she guessed it was a large mouse or something. She didn't quite know. She swiped her tongue around her lips, and pounced onto the mouse, killing it. She buried it quickly.
Then the air became still, and rain came down. Slowly, but it was enough to drench Nightstorm's pelt within the next few seconds. But the leader wasn't about to stop hunting because of the rain.

Moonpaw looked up. It was weird to start raining like this all of a sudden. He sniffed the air. It was harder to find prey now. He turned and walked into a bush, only to find a lot of tall grass. But, he heard some noises. He tried sniffing the air, but couldn't smell anything. Then, he had to choose: try and catch it with his amateur hunting skills, or get his mentor and risk the mouse hearing him. Moonpaw jumped and amazingly guessed right. He landed on a really fat mouse. He quickly killed it and carried it back to Nightstorm. "Look at this." He meowed as he set it down.

Nighstorm nodded, impressed. She was smiling again.
"Good job!" She exclaimed, and was close to nuzzling Moonpaw. She didn't know why... motherly instincts?
Suddenly her exhaustion hit her again. She showed no signs though, as she didn't want to stop hunting already. She sniffed the air again.
Nothing could really be smelled, but there were birds all over the place, many of them in erratic colors. Red, blue, green... yellow... it was all pretty.

Moonpaw sat, tired. He breathed mid heavily. Then, buried his catch and went back to scenting for more.

((Should I have Nightstorm pass out in this thread later?))
Nightstorm followed Moonpaw silently, just because she could. She didn't know the territory well enough, so it was also sensible to do that... right?

(sure!)
Moonpaw was always light on his paws. He ran a bit faster and scented the air.

Nightstorm scented the air and smelled another mouse. She crept on it, but missed. She pounced on it again, and caught it.
