A young warrior padded quitely towards the body of water. He settled down to lap it up into his powerful jaws. He lay on his side after he had drunk his fill and closed his eyes. He had been made a warrior not too long ago and was enjoying being able to leave the camp without having a mentor's permission. Icetalon couldn't find a warm spot so he pulled himself to his paws and went around the edge of the water to the other side of the pond and settled there in a warm patch of sun light.

Silverpaw padded over to the pond with a straight yet upset face. Her emerald green eyes stared at the water.
Why am I here?
The medicine cat apprentice noticed the warrior Icetalon. Though she had no sense of respect for anybody at all, she mewed grudgingly, "Hi, Icetalon."

"Hi Silverpaw," Icetalon meowed rolling over onto his other side and standing up. He padded smoothly towards the medicine cat apprentice. Icetalon sat in another patch of sunlight and ran a paw over his ear. "Looking for herbs?" he asked setting his paw gently back on the ground.
He looked back at the pond water shining in the shafts of light bouncing off it making certain spots glitter blindingly. He turned his full attention back to the younger cat, and waited for her to speak.

"No, actually. I'm just here to get away from the Medicine Cat den... which begs the question of what are you doing here?" Silverpaw said, feeling better to talk to someone that wasn't her mentor or Honeypaw.
And besides, Icetalon was a fairly new warrior too, as Silverpaw recalled, which was pretty nice.
Sheesh, where has Skyheart gone again? She hissed in her mind, One day, she's actually teaching me for the first time in moons, and now I'm back to learning on my own. I guess it's better than listening to her ramblings...
Her shoulders slumped, and she stood up, feeling impatient again. Silverpaw had no idea why she was being impatient all over again; there was no one to be angry at... well... besides her mentor, but Skyheart wasn't here for the medicine cat apprentice to chew out. Then, looking up at Icetalon's eyes, she smiled, surprising herself rather unexpectedly.
How can I be... happy?

"I'm getting away from that camp altogether today. I need a break from all of those cats. And I can finally leave camp wihtout a mentor's permission," Icetalon meowed. He looked straight at medicine cat apprentice and worried thoughts flashed through his mind. The she-cat looked worried about something. With her being a medicine cat apprentice there was n telling what she was worried about. Low herb stocks, medicine cat rules, breaking one of the rules, a fried of hers dying, and so on.
He tilted his head to the side a bit and asked, "Are you okay?" He looked worriedly at Silverpaw. He felt something he'd almost never felt for another cat. Sympathy. This cat must have five hundred things to do weighing down on her shoulders. It had to be tough to accept the path of a medicine cat and follow all of the rules.
He padded forward until he was close enough to run his feathery tail over her shoulder sympathetically. He took a step back and sat again. It was probably best to try not to be friends with the she-cat. Partially because she was a medicine cat and absolutely could not fall in love with another cat.

Silverpaw shook her head.
"My mentor... she hasn't done much with me since moons ago," She mewed, her voice becoming sharp again, "She's been annoying me because of that, and I'm overdue for my medicine cat name."
Agh, why am I complaining to him? She mewed in her head, He probably has no idea about what I'm complaining about...
After a few moments after speaking, she spoke again, this time saying, "I'd do that too, if I were a newly made warrior."
Suddenly, the medicine cat apprentice was struck with envy for Icetalon. The pupils in her green eyes narrowed, but she didn't look angry or anything. She just felt... extremely jealous.

"Have you tried telling someone to talk to your mentor? To tell them you need to be trained?" Icetalon asked his head tilting almost completely sideways this time. This he could understand. Not being taught in moons and way overdue to recieving your new name. It was true that he had never seen these sort of things actually happen, but he had pretty good idea of what it must feel like.
"Yes, most cats would probably be like me and try and get away from camp..." he said pausing in mid-sentence seeing the looking her eyes. "are you mad at me? Did I say something. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way." he meowed frantically.
((sorry for crappish post. It's lightning is striking so I have to go.))

((Meh, it's okay. You have a bit more common sense than I do with thunderstorms.))
"I - I did... but she didn't listen..." Silverpaw mewed, "And no, I'm not mad at you. I suppose I'm jealous because... you don't have to save as many cats as I should be able to do."
((And I'm sorry for my crappy post. ^^; I lost my muse.))

Well, I won't stop until she agrees. Any cat that's met me when I'm in my commanding mood would know. Icetalon meowed standing up and turning automatically in the direction of the camp. Would you like for me to have a word with her? he asked the she-cat sitting and looking back at her. Yes that must be difficult farther than my imagination can see. He turned back towards the trees picking up his paws in anticipation. He was ready to have a talk with the Medicine Cat about Silverpaw's training.

Feeling extremely jittery and nervous, Silverpaw mewed, "Sure, if you want to."
She stood up.
I better back Icetalon up if we're really going to speak to her.

"Let's go then," he said springing to his paws. He took a few steps forward and stopped at the edge of the trees to wait for Silverpaw. He picked up his paws impatiently and he could taste prey-scent on the faint breeze.
He turned his head to look back at Silverpaw, his long silvery fur shifting slightly in the breeze. He raised one feathery paw to continue as soon as Silverpaw was at his side.

Silverpaw made a quick dash towards the warrior.
"Right behind ya," She mewed, trying to hide her smirk, but that was close to impossible to do that.

Icetalon raced through the trees towards the camp, not bothering to look back to make sure Silverpaw was keeping up with him.
He raced into the camp and skidded to a halt in the very middle of the camp, surprisingly not colliding with any of the other cats. He padded calmly towards the medicine cats' den and stopped just outisde to allow Silverpaw to catch up.

Silverpaw grunted as she skidded into the camp, panting.
"Well, I guess we talk, then..." She murmured.
((Should this be continued in the Camp?))
