Scenting the air, Livana padded in the opposite direction.
"Got it!" She whispered, and smirked. Pin-pointing a bird, she crept up on it and pounced. She missed, but was close to it now. Quickly, it flew away.
"Mousedung," She muttered, "That sucked."
She looked over at Heatlegs.
"I think I smell a squirrel as well," She mewed. After mentioning that, her stomach growled. Hoping that Heatlegs didn't hear, as she didn't know how well the deputy's hearing was, she waited for him. He was better at catching squirrels anyways.

Heatlegs sniffed a bit and caught the scent. "Yeah me too. Since you already kind of said that you needed a little bit of help hunting, why don't you just watch me, ok?" When he spotted it, he stepped back some and got in a crouch. Then he jumped up, ran as fast as he could to go up the tree, and when his speed started to fail, he got out his claws and started climbing up the tree where the squirrel was. When he was close enough, he made an upwards leap and caught the squirrel in his teeth and came back down and landed perfectly.

Livana was surprised. She took back Heatlegs being good at catching squirrels; he was an expert!
"You're good," She murmured as he landed, "That was a good catch!"
Scenting the air, she smelled nothing. Maybe a whiff of mouse, but... that was about it.

Heatlegs never liked to brag, and sometimes he even forgot how unusually good at catching things in trees he was. "Well, thanks. And I think that the rain is starting to lighten up a bit. I think now I can scent a bird on the ground over there." He pointed his tail into an area covered by trees. "Do you think you could catch that? I'm not too good at catching things on the ground. I can get them sometimes, but not too often."

"I'll try."
Livana pin-pointed the bird quickly, hoping that this time, she'd catch it. She crept forward and leapt, landing squarely on the bird. She quickly killed it, and buried it by Heatlegs' first squirrel. Ignoring her want to eat the bird quickly, she scented the air.
"Mouse," She mewed, and looked at Heatlegs, "Do you want to try, or do you want me to?"

"I guess I could try, but I'm not sure." He caught the scent and followed it until he saw the mouse. He crouched in the bushes and got ready to pounce. When he did. He landed next to the mouse and immediatly swiped his claws at it when it tried to get away. He caught it and smiled. He actually caught a mouse! "I did it! I caught a mouse! I hardly ever catch mice! But I did it!" He went back over to Livana and buried it with the bird and the squirrel.

Livana smiled and chuckled.
"Congratulations!" She mewed, and nuzzled him. Not affectionately, but in that great job sort of way. She blushed after she had done so.
Uh... I hope he didn't mind...

"Um, thanks." He said, kind of embarresed. "Do you scent anything else, because I don't."

Heatlegs nodded in agreement. "Ok. Well it was nice meeting you, Livana. I hope to see you around more at the camp." Heatlegs picked up the prey from where it was place and trotted of campward, completly forgetting about the rude, uncaring, selfcentered, and unapreciative novice that awaited his return.

Livana dipped her head for no exact reason, and, feeling extremely embarrassed, went to camp a different way.
Uh... I'll won't do that again. No nuzzling toms.
