Five herds live in peace in the foothills of the Sky Mountains, each with their own closely guarded ranges. Every year, they migrate south for the bitter months of winter, and make their way back in spring. But the fifth herd, the Herd of the Cursed Forest, may be plotting something sinister and throw the delicately balanced peace into chaos. Predators are moving in, the Herd of the Spangled Sky is sending mixed messages in the new and even more confounding movements of the stars, and fewer and fewer colts and fillies survive their first and most vulnerable year. These wild steeds will have their strength, courage, and honor tested and stretched to the limit as they see their friends and family perish, their ideals thrown into the wind, and their herds irrevocably placed in danger.
Will the herds survive these troubled times? Or will the snap under the pressure, and darkness reign the mountains? The wild horses desperately need fresh, able, and new rising young leaders to guide them, loyal, brave, and honorable lieutenants to support them, and wise, determined, and strong stargazers to keep their beliefs from failing them. Will you be that horse for them? The destiny of the herds is in your hands...
